The founder of Phaedra Botanicals researched the blue waters of the Aegean Sea for many years. She fell in love with the sea in her early childhood, and eventually became a maritime archaeologist in the Mediterranean. When she founded Phaedra Botanicals, she swore to never use anything from the ocean or any ingredient treated with pollutants that cause toxicity in pollinating insects.
Phaedra Botanicals currently offer one product: a bioactive plum oil serum, the so-called EX PRŪNĪS Antioxidant Treatment Oil made from the kernels of organic Ente plums cold-pressed through a slow method in southwestern France. We use upcycling during the making to eliminate waste; the broken shells of kernels are cleaned and micronized to provide scrub for other cosmetic companies.
Our reason to offer one product at the moment is to stay focused and guarantee the highest possible quality. Each of our batches is kept small for freshness and analyzed for its active ingredient while being strictly controlled for external contaminants (e.g. heavy metals).
Ente plums, from which our EX PRŪNĪS is made, offer broad-spectrum antioxidants. They provide the skin with naturally present full-spectrum vitamin E, as well as antioxidative phenolic acids and rutin (the new fountain of youth). These are not only beneficial for the skin but also prevent oxidation of the oil itself, thus allowing us to keep the oil unadulterated and without preservatives. The most characteristic feature of our EX PRŪNĪS is its signature aroma that resembles marzipan and almonds.
